Information Security & Privacy
IT’s Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) is here to keep The New School’s electronic information and assets safe and sound. We develop and manage the Information Security and Privacy Program in support of the university’s mission of teaching and learning while respecting everyone’s privacy rights, and we’re committed to keeping your information confidential, secure, and accessible—all while following the necessary laws and regulations.
Our ISPO policies, standards, and guidelines cover a broad spectrum of information assets that include everything that’s created, collected, stored, or shared at The New School, no matter where it is or what format it’s in. Whether you’re using tech equipment for processing, or sharing or displaying data, these policies are in place for everyone, both on and off-campus.
In addition to shielding the community from cyber threats, our office actively promotes cybersecurity awareness by providing tools and resources to help community members stay informed about potential threats and practices for protection within the university and in their personal lives.
How does the Information Security & Privacy Office Help You?
Protecting information is more than just keeping our community safe from hackers or cybercriminals. It also involves educating our community members to stay vigilant and aware of the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices to help protect our community both at home and at the university. The Information Security & Privacy Office engages and empowers our community to protect our digital spaces together through comprehensive security policies and community awareness.
A variety of support tools and resources are available to learn about and implement The New School’s security and privacy policies and guidance.
