You may have questions about access to New School technology resources and services as you finish your academic career. For those continuing at The New School for post-graduate degrees, your access will remain unchanged. The below outlines notices of services that will no longer be available after graduation. This section provides recommendations for conserving your files created during your time at The New School, and in some cases offers discounts for select services and programs.
Please note 30 days after degree conferral, students will not be able to access their accounts and most services (Adobe, Office 365, Zoom, Gmail, Google Drive). Files and data that are stored in their accounts after this time will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable.
TIP:
Plan to save or migrate any files you want to keep as soon as you graduate. Depending on the amount of data and files you are trying to keep, migration to a personal account or device can take days and in some cases weeks.

IMPORTANT: prior to degree conferral you MUST set up Google 2-step. If you do not set up Google 2-step you will lose access to your account and will have to contact IT Central to have it recovered. You must set up two methods for Google 2-step. IT Central is limited in the support they can provide if you do not have a backup 2-step method. Graduating students will continue to go to mail.newschool.edu to access their New School during the 30 day transition period after degree conferral. Actual dates may vary depending on the processing of your degree conferral. If you try to access mail.newschool.edu and you see this message, "This account cannot be accessed because your credentials were not verified," you will need to log in at mail.google.com. Once 30 day transition period is over, the only way to access your New School Gmail is to log in at mail.google.com with your NetID email address (netid@newschool.edu) and your New School password.
