The Information Technology (IT) team is committed to providing our students, faculty, staff, and additional university partners with a technology environment and services that supports and enhances the teaching, learning, and administrative needs of the university community. We are guided by several dominant principles:

Academic Technology |
Offers specialized support for classroom and computer lab technology, manages equipment reservations for media projects through the Equipment Center, and provides technical assistance for events and instructional spaces throughout the campus. |
Customer Experience |
Delivers front-line customer service and support for the university community through IT Central, manages the university's computer assets, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall user experience. |
Enterprise Product Management |
Oversees core systems serving the university community, partnering with constituents in the selection, development, and implementation of a wide range of enterprise software applications and services, including the Banner student information system, Workday HR and Finance systems, Salesforce, University Chatbot, and many others. |
Enterprise Infrastructure |
Manages the technical infrastructure and security of Information Technology, overseeing online tools, maintaining servers and applications, supports collaboration, communication, and campus networks, maintains and updates physical security systems, and enhances existing web applications to meet the university's evolving needs. |
Information Security & Privacy Office |
Develops, implements, and maintains the Information Security and Privacy Program (ISPP) to ensure a university-wide approach to managing information security and privacy that respects individual rights, maintains the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources, and complies with relevant laws and regulations. This office seeks to create and maintain an overall culture of cybersecurity and privacy awareness across the university. |

Governs IT project alignment with business strategy by implementing a structured framework that ensures each request supports The New School’s overarching objectives, while fully understanding stakeholder needs, data security, resource allocation, and community impact.
Additionally, this area helps to support overall IT operations in talent management, budget, contracts, and other core initiatives and operations. |

Fosters a culture of innovation by promoting transdisciplinary practices and serving as a launchpad for new ventures involving frontier technologies such as Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Extended Reality, while creating an ecosystem that unites faculty, students, industry partners, and policymakers to develop prototypes and solutions through programs in design, social research, and the arts. |
