Hyperion connects university administrators to Banner data and gives them a complete set of tools to support administrative decisions by allowing ad hoc client/server querying, reporting, and analysis all in one application. Hyperion provides these capabilities:
- Data extraction
- Data analysis
- Reporting and distribution
Existing Banner Users must request access to the Banner database reporting views. Access is granted, based on demonstrated need, and appropriate module owner approval, to users who have shown their basic understanding of the Hyperion tool. Supervisors initially request Hyperion access to the test instances of Banner for their staff. The staff member is trained internally by other members of their department on the best practices for using the tool. The staff member must submit three Hyperion test queries to Enterprise Applications, showcasing the ability to join views and extract data accurately. This must be submitted along with a written statement of what the test queries are meant to report.
Only available to Windows users (or Mac users running a Windows environment) who are on campus. The software is delivered to approved-users via the "Start" menu.
- Enterprise Applications arranges every 2-3 years for an external trainer to visit campus to provide Hyperion training to staff throughout the university.
