Please follow these instructions for using VPN on mobile devices.

ATTENTION STUDENTS: If you are a student overseas needing VPN access please visit our Student VPN page for download instructions.

iPhone/iPad

1.

Open FortiClient VPN App

2.

Tap “select connection”

3.

Tap “Add Configuration”

4.

Give a name to VPN connection - IT suggests "TNS VPN”

5.

Enter “remote.newschool.edu” in Host field

6.

Tap "Save"

You will see the name of the VPN connection checked.

7.

Tap “Done”

8.

Go back to the VPN page

9.

Start the VPN by tapping the radio button next to “VPN”

10.

Enter your NetID and password

11.

Accept the Duo request sent to your default device

VPN requires Duo 2-step login. Please follow these instructions for setting up a Duo 2-step login.

Android

1.

Open FortiClient VPN App

2.

Give a name to VPN connection - IT suggests "TNS VPN”

3.

Select SSL VPN (inside U.S.)

4.

Tap on "Server"

5.

Enter “remote.newschool.edu” for server

6.

Tap the hamburger menu in the top right and select VPN

You will see the name of the VPN connection you just set up

7.

Tap on that VPN connection and tap connect

8.

Enter your NetID and Password

Tap ok if you receive a message about trusting the source.

9.

Accept the Duo request sent to your default device

VPN requires Duo 2-step login. Please follow these instructions for setting up a Duo 2-step login.

Windows 10 S

1.

Install the FortiClient from the Microsoft Store

2.

Go to the Windows Menu and select “Settings”

3.

In the Windows, Setting go to “Network & Internet”

In the Network & Internet and select "VPN”

In the VPN select “+” to add a VPN connection

In the VPN provider Select “FortiClient”, Give the connection a name “TNS U.S. Access”, in the server name or address add “remote.newschool.edu” and “Save”

7.

To connect select “Connect”, you will get a login window for user name and password, enter your NetID and Password.
